Eisenach Bach festival

Since 2017, the Evangelical-Lutheran Parish of Eisenach has organized the Eisenach Bach Festival around Reformation Day on 31 October. Johann Sebastian Bach was born on 21 March 1685 in Eisenach and was baptized two days later at Saint George’s church.

The International Bach Festival Gotha / Ohrdruf offers more than 60 events, including the annual meeting of the New Bach Society with around 800 members from all over the world. The concert series engages international as well as local performers.

Thuringian Bach Festival

Every year during the weeks around Easter, more than 50 concerts take place in the historic Bach sites throughout the state, attracting some 20.000 Bach-lovers from all over the world. The places in Thuringia where Bach lived and worked during his early years are the centre of the Bach Festival.
Traces of modern music

Bach Biennale Weimar

Founded under the patronage of Nikolaus Harnoncourt († 2016), the festival takes place every two years in July in the Bach city of Weimar and makes Bach accessible to visitors on a very high level.
Old treasures raised anew

Thuringian Bach Collegium

As the musical ambassador of the Free State, the Thuringian Bach Collegium plays several baroque gems in authentic locations as true to the original as possible. Including many that have never been available on CD. A CD with Bach's violin concertos will be released in 2021.
